CLINTON—It’s official: the Human Resource Center’s recycling program will end Sunday, Jan. 31, and the Encore Thrift Store will open Feb. 8.
The HRC went from recycling metal, plastic and cardboard, to recycling gently used clothing, housewares, and furniture. The thrift store also will offer household items and décor, clothing accessories, and appliances. Donations are being accepted.
“We thank all of you who have supported our recycling program for the last 17 years and the opportunities it gave to employ so many people with disabilities,” stated an HRC news release. “We hope you will come visit us at our new Encore Thrift Store opening at the same location.”
Meanwhile, Area Disposal will begin street-side trash pick up Feb. 1, which will include collecting recyclables on the first and third Thursday of each month. There will be no more alley collections of trash.
