DWC jail gets first payment for housing Cook Co. prisoners

CLINTON — Cook County actually sent more prisoners to the DeWitt County jail last month than anticipated, sheriff Jered Shofner told the committee. DeWitt County also received its first payment for housing those prisoners since the new program began.

Some of the Cook County prisoners are waiting court dates, while others are serving out sentences.
