Dr. Candice Swift’s new office, his home disrupted by the nearby construction. Like her furry observer, Swift knows what it’s like to be new to the neighborhood.
As the new principal—and first female principal—at Clinton High School, she already feels very welcome by both the teachers and the community.
Officially, Swift has only been in her new role since July 2. Unofficially, it has been much longer. Swift interviewed nearly all the new high school teachers hired for the fall, has been involved in the district’s iPad initiative, and sat in on renovation and Okaw Valley Conference meetings. She also participated in the district’s decision to convert to the Skyward software system.
