BLOOMINGTON - Clinton had another great day in dance Saturday at the IDTA JV/Junior High finals at Bloomington Junior High School.
The Clinton Junior High dance team highlighted the day, taking home second place in both their lyrical and jazz routines.
The Clinton High School JV M-squad took home a third place trophy for their lyrical routine and placed fifth overall in jazz.
Clinton High School also had four varsity dancers compete in the Miss IDTA Solo competition. Angela Sabaduquia, Rachel Brewer, Paige Thomas and Kayla Perkins were four of 39 individuals competing for the Miss IDTA title.
According to Clinton head coach Katy Arnold, even though Clinton did not have a finalist advance to the top ten, all Clinton’s soloists did a wonderful job.
“Our four dancers represented Clinton with pride, excellent sportsmanship, and of course, awesome dancing,” Arnold said. “Congratulations to the soloists for making it to the solo finals.”
The Clinton varsity team will look for a few state titles this Saturday when they send their lyrical, jazz and hip hop teams to the IDTA Varsity finals at Assembly Hall in Champaign.
