LAGRANGE, IN - Dorothy F. Ramsey, 91, LaGrange, IN died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her residence.

Living in LaGrange since 1960 she moved here from Clinton, IL. Mrs. Ramsey worked in the kitchens at the LaGrange Hospital and at Parkside Elementary in LaGrange. She was a member of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle at the church, and Sylvan Chapter #251 Order of Easter Star in LaGrange. She was an avid bowler who bowled on many Monday night leagues.

Mrs. Ramsey was born on February 1, 1918 in Clinton, IL to Robert and Anna N. (Welch) Reynolds. In 1939 in Missouri she married Lyle J. Houchin; he preceded her in death on January 27, 1945. On July 1, 1946 in Champaign, IL she married John R. Ramsey; he preceded her in death on January 2, 1999.

She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Pearson of Shipshewana, IN, Nancy Gregory of Clinton, IL, and Brenda and Eric Lewis of Chase, MI; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marie Jackson and Jerry and Rose Reynolds all of Clinton, IL, and Scott and Dianne Ramsey of Sarasota, FL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William Reynolds of Clinton, IL; and a sister-in-law, Clara Bennett of Greensboro, NC.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two grandsons; a great-grandson; four brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11:00 am at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, IN, with Rev. Denise Heller officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 pm.
