Robby M. Galyean

MAROA – Robby M. Galyean, age 85, of Maroa, passed away at his family residence, under the loving care of his family in Maroa, Ill. at 8:25 a.m. March 3, 2010.
A private visitation will take place Saturday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa. Private funeral services will take place Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Glass will officiate. Interment will follow at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa.
Robby was born in Williamson County, Ill. on June 16, 1924, a son of Robert Galyean and Dolly (Webb) Galyean. He married Juanita Rich on April 29, 1949.
Surviving are daughters: Sharon (Robert) Meier, of Maroa; Karion S. (Roy) Hill, of Taylorville, Ill.; Rose Mary Galyean, of Olney, Ill.; sons: Kenneth M. Galyean, of Taylorville; Duane (Karen) Galyean, of Millersville.
He was preceded in death by two children: Curtis E. Galyean and Cathy Reeves; three brothers: Lester Galyean; Virgil Bean and Willie Bean and two sisters: Rose Mary Coyne and Nellie Price.
Grandfather of 14, Great-grandfather of many.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a quiet, hardworking and loving father. He was a good man who stepped up when needed by his children. He had retired from Revere Copper & Brass, Inc. in Clinton, Ill.
