NORMAL, Ill. — Dolores J. Vaught Neps Fry, age 71, of Normal, IL died at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was the daughter of Alvin and Maxine Vaught of Tipton, Mo, who preceded her in death.
Dolores was a 1959 graduate of Versailles High School in Versailles, Missouri. She graduated with a BS in Education in 1963 from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and earned her MS in Education from Illinois State University in 1979.
Mrs. Fry taught high school English, Spanish, and history at Maroa and Clinton high schools for a total of 35 years. In 1995, she was voted Clinton school district Teacher of the Year by the district’s teachers. She retired in 2004 from the Clinton school district where she touched the lives of thousands of young people and helped to mold their character.
Dolores is survived by her husband Dr. Terry L. Fry, of Normal, Ill.; and two sons Tony (Carrie) Neps, of Decatur, Ill.; Greg (Sandy) Neps of Beaverton, Ore. She also has two step-children Howard (Valerie) Fry, of Centerville, Mass.; Suzy Fry (Paul) Dees, of Normal. Her six grandchildren include Celia Neps, Aiden Neps, Lauren and Kendall Fry and Kira and Haley Dees.
Visitation will at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill. on Wednesday (August 1, 2012) from 6-7 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the memorial home. Final interment will be in Versailles Cemetery in Versailles, Mo., where a second visitation and memorial service will be held at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 with a celebration of her life to follow at 5 p.m. on Friday (August 3, 2012) at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home.
