Oredia Fern Handley ‘Grandma Handley’

CLINTON — Oredia Fern Handley, “Grandma Handley,” 81, of Clinton, Ill., passed away at 1:30 p.m. on August 9, 2012 at Manor Court.

A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Calvert’s, Pastor Dan Bell officiating. Interment was at Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the DeWitt County Friendship Center, Clinton.

Oredia was born on January 14, 1931 in Somerset, Ky., daughter of Avery Norfleet and Dellia (Tarter) Norfleet. She married Kenneth Handley.

Survivors include children Brenda Kay (Calvin) Kelley, St. Augustine, Fla.; Donna Marie (Kenneth) Bush, Maroa, Ill.; Vicki Sue (David “Bogie”) Redman, Clinton, Ill.; Rickie John (fiancé Kelley Evans), Clinton, Ill., and seven grandchildren Summer McGhee, Ryan J. Kelley, Alicia Dembrowski, Kristie (Brian) Massey, Joshua (Julie) Redman, Gage Evans and Lexy Davis, and one sister Erdean Burton, Fisher, Ill.

Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

Oredia was a member of the Lodge Baptist Church. She owned and operated Handley Day Care Services, in Clinton, for 25 years. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, enjoyed garage selling, antiquing and eating at Taco Bell.
