William "Bill" Davenport is described as a private person who was always generous to others.
Leaders from several local nonprofit organizations know this is a massive understatement.
Davenport's nephew, Steve Davenport, remembers visiting with his uncle and said he would invariably receive a couple phone calls requesting donations during nearly ever visit.

Council acknowledges passing of Ernest Thorp

City council updated about water plant computer system

CLINTON -- Commissioner John Wise updated the city council on Monday about the results of recent attempts to repair the 14-year-old computer system at the city water plant. The computer controls the automated functions at the plant.
Unfortunately, Wise said, those repair attempts were unsuccessful.
