CLINTON – When looking at the Clinton Gold 14 U team’s 17-18 record as of Friday, one might judge its season to be an up-and-down one.
When looking at the team’s strength of schedule thus far, however, assistant coach Jim Ganley said the record is an understatement of how well the team has played this season.
On many occasions, the Class B team played teams in Class A. For instance, they participated in last weekend’s Bloomington Firecracker Tournament against Class A teams.
“When you look at our record, I don’t think it’s indicative of our season,” Ganley said. “For the most part, we’ve played some good teams. Everybody in our class, we’ve either beaten or we’ve hung in there and played close. We’ve played some teams outside of our class and still played well.”
