CLINTON — The DeWitt County Board approved on Thursday a plan to provide ambulance service to the area. The ambulance advisory committee will next advertise to solicit proposals from ambulance providers.
“We really took the board’s timeline very seriously,” said advisory committee chairman Teresa Barnett. After passage of a March referendum to provide funding for ambulance service, the county board formed the committee to begin developing a plan to replace ambulance service now provided by Dr. John Warner Hospital. Board chairman Melonie Tilley charged the committee with returning a proposal to the full board by July.
