Clinton Gold 14 U finishes season with wins in Mattoon Bagelfest Tournament

MATTOON – In its final tournament outing of the season, Clinton found itself with a 0-1 record after a 2-0 loss to Champaign Blue Ice on Friday.

The Gold, however, refused to end their season without a win on Saturday. As a result, they ended their tournament appearance with a record of 2-2 and their overall season with a mark of 18-21.

“This is probably my most successful season with these girls,” Clinton coach Rick Estes said. “They came together and had a pretty good season together with all the new players. All I can say is I wish them luck. They’ve got junior high ball coming up and this and that, and I wish them all luck doing that. They did a great job.”
