CLINTON — Former Clinton High School football player Ontario Sneed died Tuesday in Clinton at age 25.
Sneed was a 2005 Clinton graduate. As a stand out for CHS football, Sneed’s career rushing record was 2,216 yards, scoring 25 touchdowns for Clinton. Sneed was a Pantagraph All-Area selection and received Okaw Valley Conference recognition as a Maroon.
Sneed was a four-year starter at Central Michigan University, ranking ninth for rushing at 2,863 yards, sixth in receptions at 157 and ranking eighth for touchdowns, 26.
The CMU Chippewas won the Mid-America Conference title in 2006 against Ohio University, thanks in part to a 96-yard scoring run by Sneed.
